TENSOR CHESS PRIVACY POLICY

 

Tensor Chess, LLC, a Michigan Limited Liability Company (“Tensor”, “We” or “Us”), respects the privacy of our users and has created this Privacy Policy to describe the information we collect about you when you visit our website and applications (the “Site”), how that information may be used and disclosed and how we protect your information.

 

Information Collected by Tensor Chess

Information You Give Us

We receive and store any information you enter on this Site or give us in any other way, including personally identifiable information, when you register for an account, play Tensor Chess, access certain content or features or if you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters.  Such information may include:

  • Your name and/or username and password
  • Your country of residence
  • Your email address
  • Your device information
  • Location Information

Tensor may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your Postal Code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites. We do not collect, transmit or store credit card information on our Site.

 

Automatically Collected Information

We receive and store certain types of non-personally identifiable information such as information about your use of the Site, your Tensor Chess play and your interaction with other users whenever you interact with us and we obtain certain types of non-personally identifiable information when your web browser accesses the Site.  Tensor may collect site-visitation statistical information through cookies, tools such as Google Analytics, and other technology to speed your navigation of the Site by allowing the Site to recognize each user and his or her access privileges and to track the user’s usage of the Site.

 

Log Files

The Site server automatically recognizes the Internet Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) from which you access the Site. Tensor may also log your Internet protocol (“IP”) address, which may be helpful, for example, for system administration and troubleshooting purposes. (An IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Tensor Chess, LLC aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.
If you wish to be informed what Personal Data we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.
You can edit your Tensor Chess, LLC account information at any time. In certain circumstances, you have the following data protection rights:

Information Collected from Other Sources

If you access the Site through a third-party social media account (such as OpenID, Google+, Facebook. LinkedIn, Twitter), we may access information about you from that third-party source including your user ID and password for the third-party source and certain information from your profile for that third-party source.  The Site may combine information that we collect with information from third-party sources.

 

How Tensor Chess Uses the Information it Collects

Internal Use.

We use your information to facilitate the services you request, to create accounts and allow play of Tensor Chess on the Site. We use your information to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our Terms of Use.  We may use personally identifiable information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze Site usage, improve our content and product offerings, and customize the Site’s content, layout and services.

 

Tensor may use your information to contact you and deliver information to you that, in some cases, is targeted to your interests and relevant to your use of the Site. In addition to sending you promotional emails about our services, from time to time, we may send you promotional emails about our affiliates or other third parties.  If you do not wish to receive correspondence from us, you may opt out at any time by notifying us at legal@tensorchess.com

 

External Use

Tensor will not sell or rent personally identifiable information about you to a third party.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service. Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics are web analytics services that tracks and report website traffic. They use the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. For Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics, this data is shared with other Google services.

Advertising

We may use Google AdSense, Google AdMob and other third-party advertising companies to serve advertising when you visit the Site. These third-party advertising companies may use information about your use of the Services in order to provide advertisements for goods and services that are targeted to you.

Payments

We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).
We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

 

Due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. Tensor may disclose any information about you if required by law or under the compulsion of legal process, or in connection with any licensing, sale, merger, transfer or other disposition associated with all or a portion of its business.  We may also disclose information about you if, in our sole discretion, we believe such disclosure is necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us or you to legal consequences.

In order to protect your information and the information and data contained on our Site, Tensor employs standard technical, physical and administrative security measures.  Communications with our Site are encrypted through Secured Socket Layer (“SSL”) connections.

TENSOR CANNOT GUARANTEE SECURITY.  TENSOR ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT OCCURS BY NEGLIGENCE OF TENSOR, ERRORS IN TRANSMISSION, UNAUTHORIZED OR ILLEGAL ACCESS, OR ANY OTHER VEHICLE FOR DISCLOSURE.

 

THE SITE CONTAINS LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES.  TENSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT, TERMS OF USE, OR PRIVACY POLICIES ON ANY THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES, OR PRIVACY PRACTICES BY ANY THIRD PARTIES.

 

Children Under Thirteen

Tensor does not knowingly accept personal information from anyone under the age of 13.  By using the Site and/or providing personal information, you represent and warrant that you are over the age of 13.

 

Updating Your Information/Opting Out

You may contact us  at any time to update and/or correct your information, to opt-out of receiving future communications from us or to deactivate your account.  Additionally, you may automatically review and change the information you submit to Tensor by logging into the Site and updating your account information yourself. When Tensor receives a request to deactivate or cancel your account, we will take commercially reasonable efforts to remove your personally identifiable information from our databases, but we cannot guarantee that your information will be completely deleted due to the necessity of redundancy inherent in the electronic storage and management of data. When you deactivate your account, your member profile will be deactivated, but your public comments may remain on the Site.  Tensor has no responsibility to take down or remove any of your public activities or submissions.

 

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

Tensor may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the amended terms on this Site.   By viewing, using or accessing the Site, you consent to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use then in effect.
