The Tensor Chess Android Application is the evolution of Traditional Chess. The game builds on the beauty of the traditional game and expands it to new levels by bringing together a new harmony while uniting, integrating, and coordinating the actions of all traditional pieces in a manner and to a degree that was previously unimaginable. 

Tensor Chess offers greater possibilities for tactics and strategy than traditional chess.  However, the rules still remain inherently simple, making the game accessible to players of all levels and ages.

 Just as traditional chess bears some resemblance to complex music by creating sophisticated interlocking rhythms, in Tensor Chess, these rhythms are richer and more varied. The addition of the new piece, the Tensor Beast or the “Beast,” unites all traditional pieces in a new harmony whose synergistic effect is a richer and more complex pattern of gameplay that integrates and coordinates to a degree that is unimaginable in traditional chess.

 

In Tensor Chess, the pieces are more mobile and more powerful than in traditional chess.  The unique new piece, the Tensor Beast, does the following:

Blocks opposing pieces and shields its own like-colored pieces.

Allows its own pieces to pass through.

Allows its own pieces to “bounce,” e.g., shift movement in new directions.

Can be “propelled.” If one of its own pieces lands on a square occupied by a Beast, the Beast, on the same turn, can be sent off the square, moving in the manner of the piece that landed on the square.

Tensor Chess offers greater possibilities for tactical and strategic game play than does traditional chess. However, the rules still remain inherently simple, making the game’s learning curve accessible to players, of all levels and ages. Tensor Chess has young players as well as seasoned Grandmasters showing not only interest, but great enthusiasm for the game.
